A Confederate Girl’s Diary

I finished reading this free Kindle e-book that was supposedly written  by a girl living in Louisiana during the Civil war.  Very interesting day to day accounting of the hardships and tribulations that the civilians had to endure during the US Civil war.  It really puts you in the perspective of what it must have been like for some.  Very difficult circumstances with an abundant ways to die from War to disease or even a freak accident. It really became intense near the end after the fall of Vicksburg, MS and loss at Gettysburg, PA for the South.  The local population took to the roads to avoid war; going back and forth for days and weeks at a time.

It makes one question whether or not they have the stamina and internal strive to survive that terrible period of American history.
