It’s that time of year when the teachers and students in the state of Florida stop all the cramming and regurgitate all the information and mathematics on the FCAT tests.
Our district scores very high in the state, and my boys always say that the test is so easy that it is a joke to them. Yet, we have kids in the bigger cities of the state that score very low. My goodness, how do these kids function productively in society if they can’t pass a test that is so easy.
I tend to think that education begins at home and for some reason, some cultures consider education as something to avoid within this state. All I can say to these people, “Don’t complain about not having any employment.” If you shoot for the bottom you will hit bottom and nothing but knowledge can bring you up.
Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and you will succeed.
